The marine algae of Lilla Middelgrund, the middle part of the Kattegat

Abstract: Lilla Middelgrund is a shoal (7-30 m) in the open sea in the central part of the Kattegat. The area is considered as of interest for natural conservation purposes by the county administrative board of the county Halland. In 1997, a survey of the macroalgal flora was carried out as a part of the preparational work. The species composition and the depth distribution of the macroa algae were recorded. A total of 134 different taxa were recorded, including species new to Sweden, or reported as rare. The lower depth limit for non-crustose species was determined to 29 m.

The marine flora and fauna of the SW Onsala Peninsula, the eastern part of the Kattegat

Abstract: The south west part of the Onsala Peninsula, approx. 50 km south of Göteborg (Swedish west coast) is on national basis considered as of interest for natural conservation purposes. In 1997, a survey of the macroalgal flora was carried out as a part of the preparational work. The species composition and the depth distribution of the macro algae were recorded. The macro algae constitutes only a part of the total investigations made. The results will be presented as a joint report toghether with the results from the corresponding investigations of the epifauna of shallow waters and the fauna of shallow and sublittoral sediment bottoms.
