Positioning To
record the position of the ROV, a sophisticated positioning system
is required. The GPS-system on the vessel is combined with acoustic-
and gyro equipment, as well as navigational software (Olex), to
obtain an aproximate position. The precision is determined both
by the quality of the various components in the system and the
depth at which the ROV is operating.
